🇬🇧 This cycling route takes you to the north eastern side of Krk Island and gives you a glimpse into the island’s past. Along the way, you’ll discover churches, Glagolitic inscriptions and traces of everyday life from earlier times.
The ride starts in Šilo, known as the place where the island’s first steamboat company was founded and the home port of the first ferry in the Adriatic. From there, the route leads through Risika and Garica with a steady climb towards Kras, the highest village on the island.
Continuing through Rasopasno and Gabonjin, you’ll pass traditional villages with preserved architecture. In Gabonjin, it’s worth taking a short break to explore Glagolitic history and symbols.
The route then descends towards Soline Bay, known for its salt pans and healing mud, with beautiful views over the Crikvenica Riviera. Before heading back, you pass through Klimno, a small village with a long tradition of shipbuilding.

🇩🇪 Diese Route führt dich in den Nordosten der Insel Krk und zeigt dir das Leben vergangener Zeiten. Unterwegs entdeckst du Kirchen, glagolitische Inschriften und historische Spuren des Insellebens.
Start ist in Šilo, wo die erste Dampfschifffahrtsgesellschaft der Insel gegründet wurde. Von dort geht es über Risika und Garica stetig bergauf bis nach Kras, dem höchstgelegenen Ort der Insel.
Weiter führt die Strecke durch Rasopasno und Gabonjin mit traditioneller Architektur. In Gabonjin lohnt sich eine Pause, um mehr über die glagolitische Schrift zu erfahren.
Anschließend geht es bergab zur Bucht von Soline, bekannt für Salzfelder und Heilschlamm, mit Blick auf die Riviera von Crikvenica. Vor dem Rückweg kommst du durch Klimno, ein kleines Dorf mit Schiffbautradition.

🇭🇷 Ova biciklistička ruta vodi na sjeveroistočni dio otoka Krka i otkriva život kakav je nekada bio. Putem možeš vidjeti crkve, glagoljske zapise i tragove prošlih vremena.
Ruta počinje u Šilu, mjestu gdje je osnovano prvo parobrodarsko društvo na otoku. Nastavlja se preko Risike i Garice uz stalni uspon prema Krasu, najvišem naselju na otoku.
Dalje prolazi kroz Rasopasno i Gabonjin s tradicionalnom arhitekturom. U Gabonjinu se može napraviti pauza i upoznati glagoljicu.
Zatim slijedi spust prema uvali Soline, poznatoj po solanama i ljekovitom blatu, s pogledom na Crikveničku rivijeru. Prije povratka prolaziš kroz Klimno, malo mjesto poznato po brodogradnji.
