Crna Ovca – Lamb Festival in Baška
🇬🇧 Crna Ovca is a festival held in Baška on the island of Krk since 2006, taking place every year on the third weekend of May. It celebrates lamb, island heritage, culture, sports and individualism, bringing together visitors in a lively atmosphere filled with food, music and events. The streets of Baška become a central meeting point where local traditions and modern experiences come together.
Gastronomy, culture and festival experience
At the centre of the festival is Baška lamb, a well-known local product served in different forms, from roasted lamb to traditional dishes such as žgvacet with šurlice, as well as contemporary interpretations prepared by local restaurants. The program includes concerts, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, sports activities and cultural events, creating a diverse and dynamic festival experience. Crna Ovca is recognised with the “Croatian Island Product” label and contributes to the promotion of local gastronomy and island identity.
